The Ashmolean Museum’s core aim as a world-class museum and cultural destination is to broaden its reach, welcome everyone and offer experiences which are innovative, inspiring and relevant. Membership is part of the Audiences and Online Engagement team in the Audiences & Content Directorate. It provides an important source of funds for the Ashmolean that supports activities for wider audiences. This role therefore contributes to the Ashmolean’s strategic priority of ensuring a sustainable funding model.
In recent years the membership scheme at the Ashmolean has grown significantly, and the Museum would like to expand the scheme further to nurture engagement and loyalty to the Ashmolean. To help sustain this growth, we are now seeking a part-time Membership Assistant to join the team.
You will primarily provide support to fulfil day-to-day administrative tasks in the Membership Office, as well as provide excellent customer care to Ashmolean Members via email, phone and in person. This is a vital support role within the Membership Team which enables the smooth running of the membership programme, all related communications, financial administration, and visitor engagement.
You will be process-driven, with strong organisational skills, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will have a track record of excellent customer service skills, and have experience of dealing with the public, and enjoy interacting with visitors and nurturing relationships with Members and volunteers.
This is a two-year fixed term role at 0.5FTE/18.25 hours per week.
